Istanbul Police raid “pirate” ship

A few days ago after a long investigation, the Istanbul Police raided a ship containing pirate materials, including music and game CDs and DVDs, and books. Over 200,000 CDs and DVDs with a market price of about Turkish Lira 600,000 were seized.

Additionally, the Istanbul Police carried out another operation seizing over 1 million pirate CDs. It was reported that 47 persons were taken into custody, including the head of the gang. Several computer boards and production materials were also confiscated.

According to the information provided by the Head of Security Units, it is clear that pirate CD manufacturers are working more reluctantly and paying more attention to confidentiality.
